Update 21/09/2022 : MacOS is no longer supported by the Ikomia Team.

How to install Ikomia on MacOS

Today, we are going to install Ikomia on MacOS.

First of all, let us briefly recall what is Ikomia. Ikomia is a cross-platform software dedicated to use, share and reproduce state of the art computer vision algorithms (see here for more details).

At first, you need to download Ikomia here.

Note: The size of the installer is important because we bundle our own Python framework, all OpenCV libs and all CUDA/CUDNN dependencies.

Then if you choose to sign-up/register, you can benefit from some advantages:

  • Unlocking advanced features like plugin integration and algorithms sharing
  • Access to the Ikomia Helpdesk to notify bugs or defects for fast corrections and improvements from the komia team
  • Access to the Q&A system to get support from the community

The next step is to launch IkomiaSetup and follow the instructions.

Once it’s installed, search Ikomia and launch it. Please be aware that CUDA doesn’t work anymore on recent Mac computers because Apple works with AMD/ATI nowadays.

Don’t forget to login in Ikomia if you want to download and install some well-known algorithms (Neural Style Transfer, Mask RCNN, YOLO etc….)

In this version, we use the following tools:

  • OpenCV 4.2.0
  • VTK 8.1
  • Cuda 10.1
  • Cudnn 7.6.5
  • Python 3.7
  • G’mic 2.8.0

Tested on these macOS X versions:

  • 10.13 High Sierra
  • 10.14 Mojave
  • 10.15 Catalina

Enjoy!!
