Ikomia – A shared vision of research

Ikomia is a startup dedicated to computer vision and artificial intelligence.

The team firmly believes in a modern approach to using and sharing research work worldwide. We also believe that accessing and testing state-of-the-art methods should not be time-consuming.

Researchers develop promising algorithms that often go untapped by the industry. Our mission is to simplify these steps and provide solutions to enhance the Computer Vision prototyping experience. Introducing the open-source Ikomia toolset. Let's take a tour.

Input data

The tools use OpenCV and VTK to load the following data:

  • Color and grayscale images in standard formats
  • Videos
  • Temporal image sequences
  • Image stacks (3D)
  • Medical images (DICOM)
  • Streaming (Internal webcam, USB Cam, IP Cam)

Computer vision libraries

The HUB offers a wide range of algorithms provided by 7 different frameworks. This encompasses basic operations as well as more sophisticated processes. As a user, you can download tested and ready-to-use methods to apply to your own data. As a researcher, you can publish your own ready-to-use Python code to the community.

Node based desktop application

To simplify the usage of multiple algorithms, Ikomia STUDIO, a node-based editor that enables chaining of multiple processes. With this graph-based approach, you can design your own algorithm or compare different methods. The only limitation is your creativity!

Vision algorithm integration

Do you develop innovative, fast or original algorithms? Do you code in Python or C++?  Then Ikomia API is for you! Use the API to easily bind your code in the platform on your dedicated environment.

Lastly, we have built a hub for computer vision and deep learning algorithms. As a user, you can download tested and ready-to-use methods to apply to your own data. As a researcher, you can publish your own ready-to-use Python code to the community.

Our n°1 goal: building a CV community

After two years of dedicated work and tens of thousands of lines of code, we eagerly seek feedback from our users. If you wish to contribute, please share your thoughts in the comments below, the Q&A page of the platform, GitHub, LinkedIn, or Twitter. While our team continues to develop new features for CV developers, we are currently focused on building the most collaborative, sharing, and innovative CV community.
